BE-EGTC

The BE-EGTC project was submitted by EGTC Euregio Senza Confini (Project Coordinator) together with EGTC GO (Project Partner) under the PPPA-2025-BRIDGEFOREU European call, which aims to support Member States in the establishment and operational set-up of Cross-Border Coordination Points (CBCPs) as provided for by Regulation (EU) 2025/925 – BRIDGEforEU. The call provides financial support for the operational establishment of CBCPs, including prospective CBCPs, i.e. cross-border coordination points that are in the process of being established, with the objective of strengthening Member States' capacity to identify and overcome legal and administrative obstacles affecting cross-border cooperation.

The BRIDGEforEU Regulation, adopted by the European Parliament and the Council on 7 May 2025, represents an important step forward in European territorial cooperation. It introduces concrete mechanisms to identify, analyse and address legal and administrative obstacles that hinder the functioning of infrastructure and services in border regions, thereby contributing to the strengthening of the European Union's economic, social and territorial cohesion.

Within this framework, the BE-EGTC project aims to develop and pilot a joint prospective Cross-Border Coordination Point (CBCP) for the border area between Italy, Austria and Slovenia, in accordance with Article 4(2) of the Regulation, which allows neighbouring Member States to establish joint Cross-Border Coordination Points.

The future CBCP will serve as a single and permanent contact point for public authorities and other relevant stakeholders. Its role will be to receive, assess and facilitate the resolution of cross-border legal and administrative obstacles. Through coordination with the competent national authorities and dialogue among the different levels of governance, the CBCP will contribute to a more effective management of cross-border issues, while strengthening multilevel governance within the cooperation area.
