European Week of Regions and Cities 2025
The 23rd edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities (#EURegionsWeek) will take place from 13 to 15 October 2025 in Brussels.
It is the largest European event dedicated to cities and regions, created to highlight their role in economic development, job creation, the promotion of sustainable growth, and the implementation of the EU’s cohesion policy. The event also serves as an important occasion to reflect on the contribution of local and regional actors to an effective and participatory European governance.
The #EURegionsWeek brings together a broad and diverse community of stakeholders, providing an open and collaborative space for skills development, experience sharing, and dialogue between regions, cities, and institutions. It fosters cooperation across different levels of governance by involving political, administrative, academic, and private sector representatives.
The programme includes a mix of innovative and participatory sessions alongside more traditional workshops, organised by selected partners. Participants will also have access to numerous networking opportunities, high-level discussions, and interactive activities, ensuring an engaging and valuable experience.
The event is co-organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy and the European Committee of the Regions.
The Participation of the EGTC Euregio Senza Confini in the #EURegionsWeek!
The EGTC Euregio Senza Confini will also take part in the #EURegionsWeek with two official events, described in the following paragraphs.
- When? Wednesday 15/10/2025, h. 09:30 – 11:00
- Where? Jacques Delors building, JDE 52 (Bruxelles)
Fit4Co CBO and Interreg Europe foster European cooperation by engaging local actors to boost growth, competitiveness, and resilience. Fit for Cooperation features the EGTCs Euregio Tyrol–South Tyrol–Trentino and Euregio Senza Confini as key drivers of cross-border cooperation. While following a shared bottom-up approach, the two EGTCs use distinct methods: one helps local authorities access EU funding, the other provides budgets to public bodies in cross-border partnerships. The peer review by Interreg Europe helps public authorities tackle local policy challenges through interregional policy learning. The lab will engage the audience in exploring solutions for local actors to cooperate.

In times of uncertainty, the role of regions and cities becomes more crucial than ever. Being closest to citizens, they can offer a framework of security and trust. This is particularly relevant in cross-border areas, due to their specific challenges which are further intensified by current trends. We aim to address civil protection in a cross-border context, showcasing the efforts carried out on the ground and their key contribution to building a safer and resilient European Union. Our political representatives and project managers will present initiatives in areas like natural disaster prevention and management, communication and preparedness, and coordination with different organisations.
Registration is mandatory and must be completed by 30 September 2025.
The week's calendar is filled with events, so we invite all interested participants to consult the detailed programme available at this link.
