The ADRIPASS project has been mentioned as one of the best projects funded by the ADRION programme in the field of Transport and Innovation
On 29 January 2019, the European Parliament, the European Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions adopted the “2nd Report on the implementation of the EU macro-regional strategies”. The report provides a detailed analysis of the four EU macro-regional strategies (EUSAIR, EUSBSR, EUSDR, EUSALP) and includes recommendations on governance, funding, policy planning and communication.
Among the best practices mentioned, ADRIPASS stands out as the only transport project highlighted – alongside NEORION and ARIEL. ADRIPASS was recognised for its key objective: improving multimodal connections between ports and hinterland in the ADRION region, thus fostering growth and economic development in the transport sector.
The project addresses bottlenecks along the TEN-T corridors, with a particular focus on the Western Balkans, and tests ICT-based solutions such as Port Community Systems (PCS) and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). Its concrete outputs include a transnational action plan to facilitate freight transport and an ICT action plan to enhance multimodal transport across the ADRION region.
Thanks to ADRIPASS, the regional transport planning process will be significantly strengthened and better aligned with EU transport policy.
