The EGTC-NET project aims to create the first sustainable network among five EGTCs based in the Interreg Italy-Austria Program area, with the goal of reducing and eliminating cross-border obstacles. The Lead Partner of the project is EGTC Euregio Senza Confini and the partnership consists of EGTC GO, EGTC Geopark Karawanken, EGTC Alpine Pearls, EGTC Euregio Connect and EURAC Research.
Starting with an analysis of the governance of the five EGTCs(WP2), a mapping will be returned with evidence of the similarities and problems of the different governance models present.
In parallel, each EGTC will work on the identification of a specific obstacle that impacts the territory and limits its functioning(WP3), envisaging possible solutions for removal. To complement the work of WP2 and WP3, a joint paper will be prepared analyzing the potential impact of the new proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on facilitating cross-border solutions on the functioning and evolution of EGTCs(WP4). Study visits will also be conducted at the premises of each EGTC to exchange experiences and best practices in solving cross-border obstacles that will also involve students, researchers and stakeholders. Finally, a permanent working table will be created to enable sustainability of project results and strengthening of cooperation in the Program area(WP5).
This network will be a constant point of reference for the exchange of experiences, best practices and innovative solutions, enabling a continuous deepening of cross-border and interregional cooperation.
